YAO Hong, Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, Chief Physician. He graduated from Kunming Medical University in 1998, and in 2005 he moved in the University of Hong Kong into the lab of Professor Kong Xiangfu, the famous biologist who has been engaged in tumor biotherapy research for more than 10 years, where he obtained his doctor degree. In 2014, he was introduced to Jiangsu Institute of Cancer Biotherapy as a Jiangsu Distinguished Professor, prepared to establish the "Jiangsu Collaborative Center for Cancer Biotherapy" and served as the director of the department of nanomedicine. In February 2019, he took up a full-time position in the Third Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University, and is currently the director of the Cancer Biotherapy Center and the director of the Cancer research Institute.
He has been committed to tumor cell and gene treatment research for a long time, and has established a tumor targeted nano gene drug technology platform, and developed new tumor biotherapy technologies such as Chimeric antigen receptor modified T lymphocyte (CART) and Tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TIL) preparations. In the past 5 years, he received two research funds from the National Natural Science Foundation of China and three from the Provincial and municipal projects, with a total funds of nearly 3 million yuan. He has published 16 SCI papers in international journals such as JCO and Biomaterials, applied for 8 national invention patents as the first inventor, among which 4 have been authorized and one of them transferred to enterprise for anti-cancer drug development. He teaches undergraduates of Kunming Medical University in the selective course "Cancer Biological Therapy", and has guided the training of more than 20 graduate students, 6 doctors and young teachers. He is the member of the fourth committee of Medicine Bio-Tech Clinical Application Professional Committee of China Medicinal Biotech Association, director committee member of the Tumor Biotherapy Professional Committee of Yunnan Anti-Cancer Association and the director committee of the Cell and Gene Therapy Yunnan branch Translational Medicine Society.
